Michael Adams has more than 40 years experience as an architect, planner, partnering facilitator, and certified value specialist (CVS). His experience includes design, project/construction management, serving as expert witness (as well as arbitrator and mediator), and serving as both a value analysis team member and facilitator. Mr. Adams is Principal of Enlign Consultants, a consulting firm located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Mr. Adams was the SAVE International Director of Standards & Resources from 1996 to 1997 and the Editor-in-Chief of Value World from 2002 to 2004. He writes extensively and has been published in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan. Mr. Adams co-authored “Facets of FAST” and received the SAVE International Best Paper of the Year Award in 1997. As value analysis team facilitator, Mr. Adams received a Quality Team Certificate of Special Recognition from the California Department of Transportation in 2002 for a study of Tort Claims Procedures in Los Angeles, District 7. Mr. Adams holds B.A. and B.Arch. degrees from Rice University and an M.Sc.Arch. degree (Health Services Planning and Design) from Columbia University (where he was also awarded the William Kinne Fellows Traveling Fellowship). In addition to being a Certified Value Specialist (Life), he is a professional planner in New Jersey, is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), is a registered architect in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas (inactive), and Colorado, and is trained in the Choosing By Advantages (CBA) Decisionmaking System. Mr. Adams is a senior member of SAVE International, holds memberships with the American Institute of Architects, the Construction Specifications Institute, the U.S. Green Building Council, Colorado State University Construction Management Professional Advisory Development Board (PADB), and the Decision Innovations Institute. Michael S. Adams is the principal of Enlign Consultants. He is an architect, planner, and a Life-Certified Value Specialist. Mr. Adams is a trained arbitrator, mediator, partnering facilitator, Choosing By Advantages (CBA) instructor and facilitator, and expert witness in design and construction.
